Donor Advised Funds

A Personal Approach to Giving

Establishing a Donor Advised Fund allows you to make a gift to your community foundation, and then remain actively involved. You can have ongoing involvement in the use of your gift. You work with the community foundation’s professional program staff, identifying ways to use dollars from the fund you establish to address the issues and needs that you care about most. Your recommendations are submitted to our Board of Trustees for approval.  Once approved, we then distribute grant dollars in the name of the fund (or anonymously if you prefer). It’s a simple, powerful, and highly personal approach to giving.

The National Standards Seal by our name indicates official confirmation from the Council on Foundations that we have met the most rigorous standards in philanthropy. It affirms our commitment to financial security, transparency and accountability. It says our grantmaking includes an open, competitive process designed to address the changing needs of our community. The National Standards Seal also confirms our history of honoring donors’ wishes.
