Grant Criteria for the Trustee’s Women’s and Men’s Giving Circle
The Trustee’s Women’s and Men’s Giving Circle awards grants that support projects benefiting the Cadillac Area Public Schools (CAPS) District. While an organization may be located outside the district, it may still be eligible if its programs directly serve CAPS students or residents.
Our grant program focuses on the Cadillac Area Public Schools District (CAPS). Organizations outside the district may be considered if they provide meaningful services to individuals or students within the CAPS community.
The Cadillac Area Community Foundation does not fund:
– General operating expenses
– Endowments
– Fundraising campaigns
– Grants to individuals
– Conferences
– Sectarian or religious programs
– Political programs or activities
Examples of general operating expenses include:
– Rent or mortgage payments
– Utilities, including electricity, water, internet, and phone service
– Computer maintenance, software, and repairs
– Salaries, wages, bonuses, and administrative staff expenses
– Travel and meal expenses
– Office supplies
– Insurance premiums
– Building and equipment maintenance
– Legal and accounting fees
– Licenses and permits
– Software subscriptions
– Property taxes
Generally, salaries that are part of an organization’s normal operating expenses are not eligible. However, personnel costs that are directly tied to delivering a specific grant-funded project may be considered if they are clearly outlined in the proposal.
Yes. Organizations located outside the CAPS district may apply if their proposed project or program directly benefits residents or students within the Cadillac Area Public Schools District.
