Orma and Kenneth Brodeur Scholarship
Helen and Harvey Pell Fund for Education Scholarship
Dr. Fredrick Mannion Scholarship – application by invitation of the Senior Class Counselor

Paul McMullen Track & Field Memorial Scholarship Application – Wexford Missaukee ISD School District High school track and field performance results in the 1600 and/or 800 meter run.
Helen and Harvey Pell Fund for Education Scholarship – is available to current residents of the Wexford-Missaukee ISD area graduating from high school, have graduated from high school, obtained a GED, or college student may apply.
Workman Fund of Hope Scholarship – is available to current residents of the Wexford-Missaukee ISD area graduating from high school and Wexford Missaukee Career Technical Center students within the Wexford Missaukee Intermediate School District.
The Fund provides scholarships to eligible students who are attending their first or second year of a certificate program, a two-year or four-year college/university in the State of Michigan.
Kelly Ann Garcia Scholarship for the Performing Arts Application – is available to CAPS Seniors majoring in voice training at an accredited college or university, and/or students entering their junior or senior year attending music camps, academies, or musical tours for vocal music training.
The Ardis/Lueder Northern Lower Michigan Endowed Scholarship Fund, supports a student in a recognized dental program at the School of Dentistry at the University of Michigan or the University of Detroit. Preference would be granted to a student who is from Wexford, Missaukee, or Osceola Counties. Qualified students in the post-graduate, fourth, and third-year program.

The David A. Cook Memorial Scholarship Fund for Civil & Environmental Engineering student at Michigan State University. Any currently enrolled, second year or higher, civil & environmental engineering student at Michigan State University.

Foundation Grants and their Return on Investment.
Return on investment (ROI) is a traditional financial metric used to analyze the efficiency of an investment. ROI = profit from an investment/investment cost and is usually expressed as a percentage. For instance, if you invest $1,000 in creating a website and it increases your sales by $1,500, then the ROI = (500 / 1,000) x 100 = 50%. Read more

Putting our Strategic Plan to Work
In the fall of 2017, the Foundation Board of Trustees, myself, and Lyn Jenks, Consultant from the Council of Michigan Foundations began to outline our strategic direction for the Foundation. Our first task was to look at our mission statement, which we revised to read:

Join Us to Create Change through the Women’s Giving Circle
The Cadillac Area Women’s Giving Circle is a network of women with a shared passion— they make a difference, they give back, and they want to create real change in issues that affect the quality of life for women and girls.
The Giving Circle pools the charitable gifts of our members into the Cadillac Area Women’s Giving Circle Fund, leveraging the power of every dollar to create real and sustainable change by funding programs and services that address issues of safety, health, and equality for women and girls in the Cadillac area. Since August 2009, the Circle has awarded over $140,000 in grants.

Donor Advised Fund vs Private Foundation
As giving has increased, so has the popularity of Donor-Advised Funds. A Donor-Advised Fund is a separately identified fund or account that is maintained and operated by a section 501(c) (3) organization, which is called a “sponsoring organization.” The Cadillac Area Community Foundation is a qualified sponsoring organization, and houses numerous Donor-Advised Funds.
